Deer Tick - The Black Dirt Sessions

I'm starting to feel a lack of new good folk, or is just me not looking hard enough, being comfortable with just listening to Dylan and The Tallest Man all day long. But now I found something that I actually enjoyed.

Singer/Songwriter John McCauley is coming out with his third album this year. This time accompanied by Titus Andronicus guitarist Ian O’Neil. Through the eleven tracks they go from traditional folk through dark Americana just to hit something that could have been written by Tom Waits. All accompanied by John’s singing were a sense of despair is always present which explode in the funeral-track Goodbye, Dear Friend. Overall It's a great record, but I would have expected more.

  1. Oh, Hello!
    Nice note about Deer Tick

I was looking for this album, and it appears missing in your blog.

    Would you please re-upload it?

It would be fantastic if you could.

    Thank you
