Six years ago Connor Oberst & Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes met Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and the singer/songwriter M. Ward during a tour. A couple of weeks and beers later they thought it would be an idea to make some show for fun under the banner “An Evening With: Bright Eyes, Jim James & M. Ward). But through the friends and crew the tour soon got called Monsters of Folk Tour.
Six years went by and each of them went on conquering the world with their souls as true defenders of the music we love. But time went by and finally they got together and recorded one of last year’s best albums. Despite the title of the band the album contains influences from country, blues, and easygoing rock n roll. But obviously Folk are the red thread through this truly amazing collaboration between some of the 00’ most influent musicians.
